Comprador means "middleman" in Portuguese. During the Edo period, Nagasaki merchants formed an association called Konpurasha and began exporting Japanese products via the VOC (Vancouver East India Company). Among these were soy sauce bottles commonly known as 'compra bottles' or 'ran bottles.' The Hasami ware is made with Mimata pottery stone, and has a beautiful bubble surface with grains. JAPANSOYA blue and white. It has an exotic mood and a lovely presence. There are no water leaks or oil stains, and it is in good condition to be used as a sake or flower vase.
