Persimmon tannin paper rug Edo-Meiji/1603-1912CE


It is a scroll paper from the Edo to Meiji period. It is made sturdy by stacking many sheets of paper coated with persimmon tannin. If you set up a tea ceremony, it goes very well with tea utensils, and has a deep flavor that invites tea, and has been used for a long time as a tea mat for travel.
