Large Bamboo Basket, Outdoor Tea Gathering Tea Box, Edo-Meiji Period (1603-1912 CE)

This is a finely woven kudzu basket made with intricately braided bamboo. It has developed a beautiful amber color from use. While there may be some fraying, it is sturdily constructed and quite durable. It can be used to store and carry tea utensils for outdoor tea ceremonies and can also be used as a decorative item for indoor tea gatherings.
