Sencha teapot stand, black ebony, teapot stand, Showa period/1926-1989CE

This is a pot stand carved out of black ebony. We were able to purchase three sets, but this is the first time we are putting them up for sale. The glossy woody feel of the black ebony is lovely, and they can be used not only for sencha tea, but also as a small teapot stand for Chinese tea. They are suited to more controlled, delicate and careful tea ceremonies, rather than tea ceremonies where hot water is poured over lavishly.
