Dutch Antique Delft jar 16th-19th century

$266

An extremely small Delft pottery from around the 17th or 18th century. The rich yogurt-like white color developed by adding tin to the transparent glaze became the base for the development of sometsuke and overglaze painting. The clay of Delft, fired at low temperatures, is fragile and will loosen over time. Plain white Delft is like a canvas for time.
