STRAW TEAPOT STAND, Woven, Showa Era(1926–1989CE)

Tax included.  |  Flat ¥1,000 shipping (Honshu only, large items excluded)

A small circular basket woven from straw.

Originally presumed to be an everyday basket for holding items, ROCANIIRU presents it as a stand for placing a teapot or tea caddy. The rustic construction—thick bundles of straw woven into a circular form—is surprisingly light in the hand and has the soft tactile quality characteristic of natural materials.

A bottle stand is a tool for resting a teapot or tea jar. Because this piece is woven from straw, it is a poor conductor of heat, helping to maintain the temperature when a hot teapot is placed on it. It is useful for winter tea gatherings and for outdoor tea service. ROCANIIRU also uses straw-woven bottle stands like this for outdoor tea service.

Unlike metal or ceramic stands, the straw’s bright tone and woven texture lend a gentle air to the tea setting. It pairs well with red-clay teapots and Chinese tea ware, making it an accessible choice for everyday tea arrangements.
