This small vase was fired in the 14th century or later at Suankhalok, an ancient kiln in Thailand. Suankhalok pottery was imported to Japan from the Momoyama period to the early Edo period, and was highly valued by tea masters as "Sungkorok." This small vase is made of semi-porcelain clay with a gray celadon glaze, and combines simple beauty with historical value. It would also make a great flower vase for a tea ceremony.
