This large painted ceramic dancing figurine, 49cm high, is an example of painted ceramics made in China during the Western Han Dynasty (202-8 BC), and reflects the dance culture and beliefs of the time. The female dancer is depicted in a long-sleeved robe and a tall hat, gracefully stepping with one hand raised. She is smiling.
The entire piece is covered in soil from when it was unearthed. Some parts have been repaired, but there is still some pigment remaining, and the piece is in perfect condition, making it a recommended addition to a collection. It is a very impressive piece, and we hope you will enjoy displaying it.
