HEISHI, Ash-glazed

This ash-glazed bottle, known as HEISHI, dates back to the Tang dynasty, specifically from the 6th century onward, although a precise date cannot be established.
Its incised lines evoke a lineage tracing back to Han dynasty ash-glazed ceramics, and it is believed that the neck was originally short, though it has since frayed and been lost.
The fraying has softened into a rounded form, harmonizing beautifully, almost reminiscent of a blossoming flower. There are no leaks.
