YABURE-TSUBO

This is a circular YABURE-TSUBO, a type of broken jar. Acquired from an old farmhouse, it is speculated to be an ancient Shigaraki piece; however, due to the lack of similar examples, its details remain uncertain. The interior of the jar is adorned with numerous impressions of seigaiha (blue ocean waves) motifs, characteristic of suwareki (hand-formed pottery). As an object, it exudes a remarkable presence. The fissures of the broken jar can be filled with a base, allowing it to be enjoyed as a flower vase as well.
