DEEP BOWL, Earthenware, Jomon Period(10000–300BCE)

Tax included.  |  Flat ¥1,000 shipping (Honshu only, large items excluded)

This deep bowl, shaped like a jar with a broad opening from a flat base, is a remarkable example of earthenware from the Jomon Period. The upper section features a single-strand cord marking, created by rotating a cord around the surface of the pottery, while the lower part is adorned with vertical ridges that spiral around its circumference. It resembles an abstract painting released into three-dimensional form. Although the piece has undergone some restoration, it retains its original shape and presents a striking and impressive presence.
