This is a Yamachawan (Mountain Tea Bowl) from the Heian Period. It is generously adorned with natural glaze. While there are kiln marks on the rim from the firing process, the bowl remains in excellent condition. With its wide rim and deep form, it can also serve as a delightful tea vessel when paired with a petite teapot.
