Products from Ko-Seto were established through the introduction of Song-style Zen, catering to the Kamakura Five Mountains and the shogunate and samurai class. As a result, many works were created to meet this demand, with the tenmoku tea bowl being a quintessential example. This piece features an ancient form with straight, upright edges. The base is crafted with a carved-out foot, and it is adorned with a dark brown Ko-Seto glaze. It appears to have been reassembled from fragments left behind at the kiln site, exuding a rustic charm that evokes the beauty of nature.
