This is an openwork-carved tea stove made of ancient copper, adorned with a floral motif. It features a handle, designed for outdoor tea ceremonies. A window is incorporated at the lower front to facilitate airflow.
It may have been intended for suspending a long tin vessel, or perhaps for burning twigs instead of charcoal, with the vessel suspended above.
I elevated it by placing local stones inside and enjoyed using it with an alcohol lamp. This elegant piece enhances the atmosphere of a tea gathering, making it a refined addition to any sencha tea set.
