BLACK POTTERY, Relief-carved with floral design

This is a black pottery vessel, relief-carved with a floral design. I have researched extensively, but its provenance remains unknown.
The carving creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow on the surface of the pottery, revealing the profound character that comes with age. There is no doubt that it bears the marks of time.
While it can hold water, it will gradually absorb moisture into the clay over time. Therefore, if used as a flower vase, it is advisable to use a liner. If you would like, we can provide one for you upon request after your order.
